The Georgia Quilt Council is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. Our goals are:
- to serve as an information exchange for quilters
- to promote quilting education
- to support public service projects and
- to promote friendship and sharing among Georgia quilters.
Our love of quilting brings us together, and the friendships we form keep us together.
The Council sponsors a three day retreat and convention once a year with time spent quilting and forming relationships, time for Show ‘n Tell, time for a national lecturer/teacher, and time for a convention.
Members receive a bimonthly newsletter, “The Sampler”, which keeps them informed of quilting events throughout the State and spotlights the accomplishments of Georgia quilters. Each member also receives the annual directory listing members, guilds and shops, and teachers in and around Georgia.
The Council maintains a website about quilting in Georgia. The website contains information about quilt shops, guilds, membership in the Council, dates of events, and much more.
The Georgia Quilt Council helped start the Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum now open in Carrollton, GA. This Museum began as a dream among members of the Georgia Quilt Council and is now a reality. There are exhibits from guilds and individuals around Georgia. More information about the museum may be found at Southeastern Quilt and Textile Museum.
Please join the Georgia Quilt Council as we link quilter-to-quilter and guild-to-guild as “Georgia Quilters Bind Together to Learn and to Share”.
